HOLES for HOPE: HINTS for FASTER PLAY
Compiled by Mr Dave Norris, our 2016 H4H Hero with 102 holes played in 12 hours.
We bend the rules a bit because it is not the number of strokes that count – the objective is to play the maximum number of holes within 12 hours.

Rule bender #1. Take no more than two putts; if your first putt gets to within 2 feet of the hole, pick it up (and count the pick up as your second putt if you are keeping track of strokes).
Rule bender #2. If your shot goes out of bounds or in the water, just go up to where it went out of bounds or in the water and drop and hit another ball from an in-bounds playable lie.
PLEASE do not drive your carts into the out-of-bounds areas marked by white stakes, which in some cases are the yards of homes that adjoin the golf course. If you can see your ball in someone’s yard, please park your cart in-bounds, then walk straight to your ball, pick it up and return quickly to your cart in the in-bounds area.
Speed Hint #3. Before you start play, remove all club covers and put them in your bag or leave them in your car.
Speed Hint #4. Try to eliminate any practice swings; just step up to your ball and hit it – your objective should be to hit it straight and keep it in play. And, you do not need to watch your ball until it stops, just until you know that your ball will still be in play. Then get back in your cart with your club in your hand and go.
Speed hint #5. Do not put your club back in your bag until you get to your ball for your next shot; then put that club back in your bag and get out your next club.
